Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a contract position for the upcoming 26/27 school year. Working approximately 20 hours per week, you’ll collaborate closely with K-12 students in an itinerant capacity, helping them develop their skills and confidence in an inclusive educational environment. Your expertise will empower learners to overcome barriers and thrive both academically and socially.
Ideal candidates bring experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing within school settings, and understand how to adapt instruction for individual needs. If full-time hours are preferred, a dual assignment including special education may be available for those holding appropriate licensure.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current teaching license with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement (K-12).
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settings.
- Strong skills in collaboration, communication, and adaptability.
- Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility to travel between sites in an itinerant role.
- Willingness to provide instruction across grade levels, from elementary through high school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Adapt and modify curriculum to support accessibility and student success.
- Advocate for students’ needs and provide training or consultation to staff and families.
- Develop and implement IEP goals, document student progress, and participate in meetings.
