Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience working with school-aged children, ideally in an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of various communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs
  • Collaborative mindset for working with teachers, families, support staff, and related service providers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to DHH students in both individual and group settings
  • Conduct assessments to determine students’ needs and progress
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with educational teams
  • Consult with general education teachers and staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and access to curriculum
  • Advocate for students’ communication access and inclusion in school activities
  • Communicate regularly with families to provide updates and resources
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in a timely manner
