This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) offers the chance to support students across K-12, helping ensure every child’s unique needs are met. Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Professional Educator License (PEL) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), with a Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and school staff
  • Ability to tailor instruction for students with a range of hearing needs and academic levels
  • Flexibility and adaptability to travel between school sites as needed
  • Knowledge of current best practices and technologies in DHH education

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students on your caseload in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Serve as the DHH teacher for students with designated minutes per week
  • Support students across a K-12 population, adjusting approach and materials to age and developmental level
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to promote student success
  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusion throughout the school community
