Teacher of the Deaf in Saint Paul, MN

Step into a rewarding role supporting students across the K–12 spectrum as an ASL Interpreter at a well-established school district near Saint Paul, MN. This contract position runs from ASAP through May 28, 2027 and offers the chance to make a real impact in the academic journey of Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners. You’ll work full-time, onsite (remote work not available) in a highly collaborative environment, facilitating access and inclusion across classrooms.

Key qualifications:

• Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID-NIC or NAD IV/V), or
• Minimum 4.0 score on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) plus successful completion of the EIPA written exam
• Experience supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in educational settings preferred
• Proficiency in American Sign Language and knowledge of deaf culture
• Ability to work effectively with children from diverse backgrounds, K–12
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Professionalism, punctuality, and a commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal growth

Primary responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (and vice versa) for students, educators, and staff within classroom and school activities
• Collaborate with teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, special education teams, and general education faculty to ensure accessibility
• Support both academic and extracurricular experiences, adapting interpretation approaches as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards
