Make a difference supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a dynamic school community near Salt Lake City, UT. This contract position invites you to collaborate with students, educators, and families—fostering language development and academic achievement in the classroom and beyond.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
  • Experience supporting students with hearing impairments in educational settings
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE), as needed for assignment
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to assess, adapt, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support to students with hearing needs in individual or group settings
  • Consult and collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, progress, and goals for students
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to ensure accessibility for all learners
  • Advocate for accessible classroom environments and technology
  • Provide recommendations and strategies for instructional modifications and accommodations
  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school functions
