Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
- Experience developing IEPs and adapting curriculum to accommodate diverse student needs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with educators, families, and service providers
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Knowledge of assistive listening devices and technology integration
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible educational environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, individually and in groups
- Design, implement, and assess customized lesson plans and learning strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting for students’ educational plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student learning and inclusion
- Offer guidance, consultation, and training to general education staff regarding accommodations
- Communicate regularly with families to share student progress and strategies for success
- Stay current on best practices and emerging technologies in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
