Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with school-aged children in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of auditory technology, including hearing aids, cochlear implants, and FM systems
- Ability to develop and adapt lesson plans for students at varying levels of hearing and language development
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs
- Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and participation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure equitable access to the curriculum
- Administer and interpret assessments to monitor student progress and adjust educational strategies accordingly
- Provide consultative support to staff regarding accommodations, assistive technology, and effective instructional methods
- Participate in the IEP process, including goal development and progress reporting
