Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing within a diverse, collaborative educational environment. This full-time, itinerant position will serve various schools primarily in the Richmond area, providing primarily consultative support for EC-Transition caseloads. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring equal access to educational opportunities and empowering students to thrive academically and socially.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching credential
  • Current CTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) clearance
  • Experience working in educational settings with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills, passionate about inclusive education
  • Ability to travel between district sites as required
  • Organized, self-motivated, and adaptable to varied student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing impairments across district schools
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to support implementation of accommodations and IEP goals
  • Conduct assessments, help develop IEPs, and monitor student progress
  • Act as an advocate and informational resource for students, staff, and families regarding hearing loss and classroom strategies
  • Participate in professional development and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, ensuring all required records and reports are up to date
