DHH Teacher | San Mateo, California

This contract opportunity is designed for an educator passionate about developing communication skills and advocating for students with hearing differences. You will travel between various sites, with a focus on consultative roles, working closely with staff to ensure inclusive and effective educational experiences for all.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid DHH teaching credential and CTC required
• Background as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, especially within school settings
• Experience working in itinerant roles or districtwide support preferred
• Strong consultative and collaboration skills with classroom staff
• Expert understanding of Early Childhood to transition-aged student needs
• Ability to provide tailored recommendations and individualized support plans

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative services as an itinerant teacher across district schools
• Support educators in implementing instructional strategies for students with hearing needs
• Assess student progress, develop IEP goals, and adjust interventions accordingly
• Facilitate inclusion by advising on classroom adaptations and assistive technology
• Engage with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote student development
• Document consultations, student plans, and communications in compliance with district guidelines
