Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with school-aged students with hearing impairments
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Familiarity with assistive hearing devices, sign language, and auditory/oral communication methods
- Committed to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Conduct assessments to monitor and support student progress
- Collaborate with general educators, specialists, and families to address students’ learning goals
- Advocate for accessible learning environments in compliance with relevant laws and guidelines
