Make a meaningful difference as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing supporting students across a dynamic district in San Francisco. This contract opportunity is designed for an educator passionate about developing communication skills and advocating for students with hearing differences. You will travel between various sites, with a focus on consultative roles, working closely with staff to ensure inclusive and effective educational experiences for all.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid DHH teaching credential and CTC required
  • Background as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, especially within school settings
  • Experience working in itinerant roles or districtwide support preferred
  • Strong consultative and collaboration skills with classroom staff
  • Expert understanding of Early Childhood to transition-aged student needs
  • Ability to provide tailored recommendations and individualized support plans

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services as an itinerant teacher across district schools
  • Support educators in implementing instructional strategies for students with hearing needs
  • Assess student progress, develop IEP goals, and adjust interventions accordingly
  • Facilitate inclusion by advising on classroom adaptations and assistive technology
  • Engage with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote student development
  • Document consultations, student plans, and communications in compliance with district guidelines
