Key Qualifications:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility to obtain
• Experience working with students of various ages, preferably in K-12 schools
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities used by DHH students
• Strong knowledge of IEP planning and implementation
• Capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary educational teams
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting curriculum and instruction for their needs
• Conduct assessments and monitor student progress
• Collaborate with general and special education staff, families, and support personnel to optimize student outcomes
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to creating comprehensive, goal-driven plans
• Advocate for students’ needs while fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
• Offer consultative support and training to school staff on best practices for working with DHH students
