Individuals may work part-time in one specialty or combine both roles into a single, full-time position, catering to their experience and interests.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing and/or Visually Impaired specializations
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with sensory impairments
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in adapting curriculum and applying evidence-based instructional strategies
  • Comfort with various assistive technologies used in hearing and/or vision support
  • Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to student-centered learning

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted instruction to students with hearing and/or visual impairments in accordance with their IEP goals
  • Adapt and differentiate lessons to ensure accessibility and engagement
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and document progress to inform instruction
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for students, guiding faculty and families on accessibility best practices
  • Consult with classroom teachers on accommodations, modified materials, and assistive technology
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning sessions

This contract role offers a highly competitive pay of $85 per hour, reflecting the importance and specialization of these teaching positions.
