Empower students as a dedicated educator specializing in supporting deaf and hard of hearing learners at a vibrant school community near Santa Clara, CA. This is an onsite-only position for the upcoming school year, starting August 13th and concluding June 11th. Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing, or a California Special Education Credential authorizing teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting.
- Committed to onsite instruction exclusively.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans that address both educational and communication needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech and language pathologists, and other professionals to support inclusive learning environments.
- Adapt materials and teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with a variety of hearing levels and communication methods.
- Monitor student progress, maintain up-to-date records, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Serve as a resource to students, families, and faculty regarding deaf culture and effective communication techniques.
This full-time contract position offers a consistent 37.5-hour work week onsite throughout the school year. You'll play a vital role, ensuring educational equity for all students and fostering an environment where every learner can thrive.
