Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (or the ability to obtain it)
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Solid knowledge of auditory and language development, amplification, and assistive technology
• Strong collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, families, and general education staff
• Ability to adapt instruction and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and communication modalities
• Passion for advocating for students’ access and inclusion

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with hearing impairments in accordance with IEP goals
• Assess student progress and modify instructional strategies as needed
• Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and other professionals to support student needs
• Counsel and coach families, helping them reinforce skills and foster a supportive home environment
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and ongoing professional development
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
