Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Signal Mountain, TN

Empower students with hearing challenges to thrive in their educational journey as a valued Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist in the vibrant Chattanooga area. We're seeking a passionate educator with expertise in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a dynamic school setting. This contract role runs from August 5, 2026, through May 19, 2027, with a full-time schedule (35 hours per week), offering the chance to impact learners across one or more campuses.

What you'll bring:

• Valid, active DOE Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
• Experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or similar special education role
• Commitment to inclusive practices for diverse learners
• Familiarity with school-based environments, IEP development, and collaborative consulting
• Ability to successfully complete timely fingerprinting and credentialing as required
• Flexibility and strong communication skills to adapt to varying caseloads and school assignments
• Passion for fostering student independence, communication, and academic growth

Your responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to DHH students in accordance with IEPs
• Provide expert consultation to classroom teachers and staff on best practices for accessibility and inclusion
• Collaborate with families, service providers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and participate in student evaluations
• Contribute positively to school culture within a supportive and evolving educational team
