Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Deaf Education or a related field
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
  • Experience with assistive technology and auditory/oral approaches preferred
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Previous school-based or pediatric experience is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual and group settings
  • Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to adapt curriculum and ensure accessibility
  • Advocate for students’ needs and promote self-advocacy skills
  • Maintain accurate records and thorough documentation
  • Participate in in-service training and ongoing professional development
