Key Qualifications:

• State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
• Knowledge of current best practices in deaf education and accessibility supports
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) and assistive technology
• Excellent communication, advocacy, and collaboration skills
• Compassionate, adaptable, and dedicated to student-centered learning

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a variety of educational settings
• Collaborate with general and special education teams to adapt curriculum and classroom environment for accessibility
• Assess student needs and monitor progress through data-driven documentation
• Facilitate the use of amplification devices, interpreters, and other assistive technology as needed
• Communicate effectively with families, offering guidance and resources to support growth outside the classroom
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to IEP planning and review
