Desired Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field preferred
• Experience utilizing a range of communication methods (e.g., ASL, total communication, auditory/oral)
• Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
• Strong advocacy skills and a student-centered mindset
• Ability to work cooperatively with general education teachers, families, and other professionals

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with hearing loss in various instructional settings
• Adapt and modify curriculum to meet individual student needs and ensure access
• Develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs in collaboration with school teams
• Provide consultation and guidance to educators and families regarding accommodations and assistive technology
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Support students in building self-advocacy skills and confidence
• Participate in ongoing professional learning to remain current on best practices in deaf education
