Leverage your expertise to create an accessible and positive learning experience, collaborating with classroom teachers, school staff, and families. This role is vital in ensuring every student reaches their fullest potential by adapting curriculum and employing effective communication strategies.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or ability to obtain)
  • Knowledge of assistive listening devices, auditory/oral, and/or total communication methods
  • Experience working in a school setting with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Flexibility to travel between different school sites (if needed)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing impairments
  • Modify instructional materials and practice to support access and engagement
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Serve as an advocate and resource for students, families, and school staff
  • Assist in the assessment process and contribute to IEP meetings
  • Support transition planning and student independence
