Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid state certification and credentials as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Proven experience supporting students with hearing loss in educational settings
  • Knowledge of assistive technology, visual communication strategies, and IEP development
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support to deaf and hard of hearing students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and monitor progress
  • Consult with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications
  • Foster a culture of inclusion and accessibility in all school activities
  • Monitor and support the use of technology and communication devices
  • Engage families in the educational process through regular updates and resources
  • Maintain clear records and comply with documentation requirements
