Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification to teach students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Experience utilizing various communication methods, such as ASL and spoken language approaches
• Knowledge of creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Strong advocacy and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Familiarity with augmentative and assistive technology for hearing loss preferred
• Organizational skills to manage caseload documentation and compliance effectively

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students, both individually and in small groups, tailored to their communication needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, collaborating closely with parents and educational teams
• Assess and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Provide consultation and resources to general education staff regarding best practices for inclusion and accommodations
• Advocate for a supportive, accessible educational environment and foster self-advocacy in students
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and professional development sessions as required
