Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for certification in Washington State
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of assistive technology, communication modalities such as ASL, and educational adaptations
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Understanding of IEP development and adherence to legal and educational guidelines
• Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learners and implement best practices for accessibility

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on students’ unique communication needs
• Provide direct and consultative services, both in inclusive classrooms and specialized settings
• Collaborate with other teachers, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and families to support student success
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Advocate for accessible learning and participate in IEP meetings
• Contribute to a positive, supportive school culture that celebrates student achievements
