Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing is required
  • Experience delivering instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong understanding of IEP and 504 processes, including NHSEIS for IEP development
  • Skilled in administering and interpreting evaluation and progress reports
  • Excellent collaborative skills in consulting with families and specialized service providers
  • Ability to manage and troubleshoot amplification devices such as hearing aids or cochlear implants
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver personalized instruction to students receiving Deaf and Hard of Hearing services
  • Regularly collaborate on developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs and 504 plans
  • Apply evaluation and progress data to inform teaching strategies and IEP proposals
  • Maintain accurate records regarding instruction and student outcomes
  • Provide classroom support to ensure successful modifications are implemented
  • Consult frequently with families, audiologists, SLPs, and team members to enhance student success
  • Train staff on hearing loss technology, strategies, and necessary accommodations
  • Oversee, troubleshoot, and manage student amplification devices, including ordering parts as needed
  • Empower students to advocate for their needs and manage classroom accommodations
  • Uphold all applicable NH Special Education Procedural Safeguards and district policies
  • Participate in site-based responsibilities and meet required professional development goals
