Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a collaborative school environment near Sunnyvale, CA. From August 13 to June 11, you’ll have the opportunity to foster meaningful connections and facilitate students’ academic and personal growth in a fully onsite role.

Your expertise will help create a nurturing atmosphere where every student can thrive. As an educator, your ability to tailor instruction and advocate for accessible communication makes a profound difference to students and their families.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hold an Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing, or a valid California Special Education Credential authorizing teaching of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Proven ability to inspire and support students with varied learning needs
  • Strong understanding of language development and accommodations for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
  • Ability to work onsite for the full assignment (not available for VOCO or hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, interpreters, and support staff to ensure students’ needs are met across all settings
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that respects and celebrates Deaf culture and communication
  • Use and model both auditory and visual instructional strategies appropriate for each student’s needs
  • Maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student progress and resources
