Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state credentials required or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience supporting Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in school settings preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Proficiency with a range of accommodations, assistive listening devices, and instructional strategies (e.g., auditory/oral, ASL, total communication)
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible classrooms and supporting IEP implementation
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative educational services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to tailor instruction and ensure accommodations are in place
- Monitor student progress, participate in IEP meetings, and develop individualized education plans
- Support training for staff and parents on Deaf/Hard of Hearing awareness and best practices
- Encourage students’ academic success, self-advocacy, and social inclusion
