Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in FL

A full-time opportunity is available for a Virtual Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students to provide telehealth instruction in Florida. This contract position starts immediately and runs through May 28, 2027. The role offers approximately 38.75 hours per week working remotely to support a caseload of 20 to 30 students ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade, including those aged 18 to 22.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing using telehealth platforms.
• Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
• Collaborating with families, caregivers, and other educational professionals to facilitate student progress.
• Monitoring student development and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting as required.

Qualifications and experience:

• Valid credential in Deaf or Hard of Hearing education covering grades K–12.
• Proven experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting.
• Ability to manage effectively a caseload of 20 to 30 students.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency with telehealth technologies.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

This contract is a backfill for a current DHH Teacher taking maternity leave and presents an opportunity to impact students' academic and social development positively from a virtual setting.
