We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support students through a remote special education program in Maryland. This position provides specialized instruction and consultation services to students with hearing differences while allowing the educator to work from a dedicated home office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, interpreters, and families.
  • Participate in virtual IEP meetings and educational planning.
  • Monitor student progress and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Promote accessible learning practices within the virtual classroom.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of deaf education practices.
  • Ability to create engaging online instructional experiences.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and accessibility tools.
  • Strong organization and lesson planning abilities.

Qualifications

  • Maryland Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing certification or eligibility.
  • Knowledge of special education compliance requirements.
  • Experience using virtual instruction platforms preferred.
  • Ability to support students through individualized learning approaches.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with deaf and hard-of-hearing students preferred.
  • Classroom, resource, or virtual teaching experience welcomed.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, or related field.
Compensation for this position ranges from $25.00 to $45.00. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
