An opportunity is available for a certified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide specialized educational support for K-12 students. This part-time contract position offers flexibility with 2-3 workdays per week, starting as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year. Instruction will be delivered through a hybrid or fully virtual telehealth model, offering a dynamic and adaptable teaching environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialized instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across kindergarten to 12th grade
  • Utilizing telehealth platforms to engage students in remote learning sessions effectively
  • Developing individualized education plans in collaboration with school staff and families
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional techniques accordingly
  • Maintaining compliance with state certification standards and educational best practices
  • Collaborating with educational teams to support students’ academic and social development

Qualifications sought:

  • Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in New York State
  • Experience working with K-12 students with hearing loss in educational settings
  • Proficiency in telehealth teaching methods and virtual classroom technologies
  • Strong communication skills that foster collaboration with students, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and manage flexible scheduling demands

Location: Delmar, NY with remote work options available.
