Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Florida

A full-time, virtual opportunity is available for a certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide specialized instruction and support to students from PreK through 12th grade, as well as those aged 18 to 22. This position serves approximately 20-30 students and offers a unique chance to work within a telehealth model, delivering services remotely in the state of Florida.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Utilize telehealth technology to conduct virtual sessions and collaborate with families, educators, and related service providers.
• Develop and implement educational plans that promote language development, communication skills, and academic progress.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with program requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid credential in Deaf or Hard of Hearing education covering grades K–12.
• Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across a wide age range, including early childhood through young adulthood.
• Proficiency in delivering instruction through virtual platforms.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to assess individual student needs and implement appropriate interventions.

Contract Details:

• Location: Virtual, serving students in Florida.
• Schedule: Full time, 38.75 hours per week.
• Start Date: Immediate availability preferred.
• End Date: May 28, 2027.
• This position is a backfill for a current Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing after their maternity leave.
