An opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) services through telehealth delivery. This contractual position involves providing expert educational support in a virtual setting, focusing on students with hearing impairments.

Location: Lexington, NC (Virtual/Telehealth)

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing using telehealth platforms.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to assess and address the academic and communication needs of DHH students.
  • Develop individualized educational plans that accommodate students’ hearing and learning requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with families and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant educational standards and guidelines for DHH services.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience with telehealth or virtual instruction, particularly in special education.
  • Strong understanding of hearing loss and effective communication methods for DHH students.
  • Ability to create and implement individualized teaching plans.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Experience in educational settings serving Deaf/Hard of Hearing students preferred.

This role requires approximately 2.5 hours per week, providing flexible scheduling for professionals with expertise in virtual DHH instruction. It is a backfill contract position offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes through innovative telehealth education methods.
