Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in AL

A full-time teaching opportunity is available for a professional skilled in educating students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) through telehealth services. This role requires experience in delivering specialized instruction and support tailored to the unique communication and learning needs of hearing-impaired students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized educational programs for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing using telehealth technology.
• Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with families, audiologists, and other specialists to support students’ academic and social development.
• Provide direct instruction in speech, language, auditory training, and other areas critical to DHH education.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational standards and individual education plans (IEPs).
• Utilize assistive technology and multimedia resources to enhance learning experiences remotely.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Proven experience in teaching DHH students, preferably with telehealth or remote learning modalities.
• Expertise in communication methods such as Cued Speech, American Sign Language (ASL), or auditory-verbal therapy.
• Strong organizational and communication skills for effective collaboration with families and professionals.
• Ability to adapt instructional techniques to meet diverse learning needs and technological platforms.
