We're seeking a compassionate and dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to support students throughout North Carolina. This is a full-time 1099 independent contractor opportunity offering competitive weekly pay, consistent hours, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative school setting.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
* Conduct educational assessments and assist in determining appropriate accommodations and services.
* Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, interpreters, speech-language pathologists, administrators, and families.
* Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Support students in developing academic, communication, self-advocacy, and social skills.
* Recommend and implement appropriate instructional strategies, assistive technology, and classroom accommodations.
* Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service logs.
* Utilize virtual platforms for meetings, collaboration, and documentation when appropriate.
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education requirements.
Qualifications
* Active North Carolina licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) required.
* Minimum of 2 years of recent school-based experience preferred.
* Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
* Knowledge of instructional strategies and accommodations for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
* Comfortable using virtual technology and online platforms.
* Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
* Candidates licensed in additional states are encouraged to apply, as we may have opportunities available in those locations as well.

1099 Independent Contractor Information
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Contractors are paid weekly in full for all approved hours worked. No deductions are taken for benefits, retirement, liability insurance, or taxes. Contractors are responsible for setting aside funds for income taxes and obtaining their own professional liability insurance.
