Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in GA

A full-time opportunity is available for a specialized educator skilled in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing, located in Richland, GA. This contract position focuses on providing telehealth and in-school instructional support, specifically designed to assist a kindergarten student with language development and American Sign Language (ASL) acquisition.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized instruction to a kindergarten student who is learning basic signs and adjusting to communication via cochlear implant
• Supporting language acquisition and early ASL skills for a student with limited prior ASL knowledge
• Utilizing telehealth platforms alongside in-person teaching methods to optimize learning outcomes
• Collaborating with families and educational professionals to tailor instructional approaches
• Tracking student progress and adapting lessons to meet evolving needs

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Certified Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, with proven experience in early childhood education
• Proficiency in ASL and strategies for teaching students with cochlear implants or hearing devices
• Familiarity with telehealth service delivery in educational settings
