A specialized opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing with expertise in telehealth services to support an Early Childhood (EC) caseload. This contract role is based in Saint Joseph, MI, and focuses on delivering tailored educational and support services to young children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to children who are deaf or hard of hearing, focusing primarily on early childhood learners.
- Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to conduct remote educational sessions and consultations.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and related service providers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies to meet individual needs.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for deaf and hard of hearing students, ensuring access to appropriate technologies and accommodations.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with early childhood caseloads.
- Proficiency in telehealth delivery methods and technologies.
- Strong understanding of audiological, speech, and language development relevant to deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with families and multidisciplinary teams.
