Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing | Florida

A full-time virtual teaching opportunity is available for a specialized educator serving students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This contract role offers 38.75 hours per week, beginning immediately and continuing through May 28, 2027. The position supports a caseload of approximately 20 to 30 students ranging from PreK through 12th grade, including students aged 18 to 22.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering specialized instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Utilizing telehealth methodologies to ensure effective virtual educational services.
• Managing caseloads with individualized education plans and progress monitoring.
• Collaborating with families, support staff, and other stakeholders to optimize student outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting according to program guidelines.

Qualifications sought:

• Valid credential for teaching Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, covering grades K–12.
• Experience with telehealth or virtual teaching platforms preferred.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload of students across multiple grade levels.
• Strong communication skills to engage with students, families, and professional colleagues.
• Adaptability to a fully virtual instructional environment.

This role is a backfill for a current educator on maternity leave who will not be returning. The opportunity requires dedication to supporting the unique learning requirements of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a virtual setting.
