  • Valid Teaching Certification in Special Education with specialization in Hearing Impairment (HI)
  • Experience as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing strongly preferred

  • Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional methods for students with diverse communication needs, including ASL, oral communication, and assistive technology
  • Commitment to collaborative teamwork with general education teachers, therapists, and families
  • Strong advocacy and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, adaptive instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and goals
  • Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
  • Support communication needs through interpreting resources, visual aids, and technology integration
  • Consult and collaborate with other staff, parents, and outside specialists to coordinate comprehensive support
  • Promote self-advocacy and independence among students
