Qualifications:

• Current state teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or related credential
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other modes of communication used by students who are deaf/hard of hearing
• Experience in planning and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with families, staff, and related service providers
• Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
• Ability to adapt lessons to diverse learning needs and styles

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students with varying levels of hearing loss
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to support student access to curriculum
• Foster an inclusive and encouraging classroom environment
• Provide consultation and training to classroom teachers and support staff
• Serve as an advocate for students, ensuring appropriate accommodations and modifications
• Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress
