Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Tullahoma, TN

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with high school students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the 2026/2027 academic year. This full-time, in-person position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the educational journey of a student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing. With a set schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM CST, you’ll engage in a focused, supportive environment and play a vital role in fostering communication, academic growth, and self-confidence.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Demonstrated experience working with high school students is preferred
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to implement them effectively
• Exceptional communication skills, including proficiency with American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication modalities
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver tailored instructional strategies in alignment with the student’s IEP goals
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student outcomes
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjustments as necessary
• Advocate for the unique needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within the school community
• Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with school and district requirements
• Contribute to a positive, nurturing classroom culture

This in-person, school-year contract position begins August 4th, 2026, and centers on supporting one dedicated high school student.
