Key Details:
- Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM – 2:45 PM CST
- Academic year: August 4, 2026, to the end of the 2026-2027 school year
- In-person teaching; no remote options
- Focused high school caseload, working with one student
Qualifications:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience or coursework in deaf education and assistive technology
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and learning strategies for D/HH students
- Strong interpersonal communication and advocacy skills
- Ability to collaborate with general educators, parents, and support staff
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that accommodate the unique learning needs of a deaf/hard of hearing high school student
- Collaborate with the educational team to design and modify IEPs
- Monitor progress, track data, and provide regular reports on student achievement
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment conducive to academic and social success
- Support communication through various modalities, including sign language and assistive technology as needed
