Empower the next generation by making a difference as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in an engaging high school setting near Tullahoma, TN. This full-time, contract opportunity will allow you to utilize your specialized expertise during the 2026-2027 school year. Work closely with a single high school student, supporting language development and academic growth through in-person instruction.

Key Details:

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM CST
  • First Day of Service: August 4, 2026
  • School Year: 2026/2027 (NSY)
  • Caseload: 1 high school student
  • Work Setting: On-site, in-person only

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience serving students with hearing impairments preferred
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or similar communication mode required
  • Ability to adapt instructional methods to individual student needs
  • Collaborative spirit to partner with school staff, families, and specialists

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver specially tailored lessons to meet the unique academic and communication needs of your student
  • Develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives
  • Track progress through regular assessments, modifying instruction as needed
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Liaise with general education staff to support full participation and integration
  • Provide guidance, advocacy, and resources to the student and family as necessary
