Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity is ideal for passionate educators skilled in supporting students with hearing loss. This position is based in the Binghamton, NY area and will follow the school calendar for the 2026/2027 academic year (specific dates to be confirmed). You'll join a supportive environment that values expertise in deaf education and dedication to student growth.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) or eligibility for state certification
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of various communication methods, including sign language and auditory-oral approaches
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, and families
  • Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Work as part of interdisciplinary teams to monitor progress and update IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure accommodations are in place
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all school and state regulations
