Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Knowledge of current instructional strategies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with strong communication and interpretation abilities
- Experience creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, parents, and school staff
- Dedication to fostering inclusive, accessible classrooms and promoting student advocacy
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized and group instruction tailored for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Adapt curriculum, materials, and teaching techniques to support diverse learning needs
- Regularly assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights and recommendations for student success
- Serve as a resource for general education staff regarding Deaf/Hard of Hearing best practices
- Foster a positive, communicative environment that encourages student engagement and growth
