Key Qualifications:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Profound knowledge of instructional strategies for students with hearing loss
- Experience with various communication modalities, including ASL, oral, or total communication
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver specialized instruction to Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in accordance with IEP goals
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to suit individual participant needs
- Support classroom teachers in implementing accommodations and accessible classroom strategies
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust instruction as needed
- Serve as a liaison among students, families, and school staff to promote academic and social success
- Provide guidance and advocacy to ensure that students have equal access to education and resources
