Make a positive impact in the lives of students by providing specialized educational support as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher on a part-time, contract basis. This rewarding position will support a small caseload of 4-5 students—2 in elementary, 1 in middle school, and 1 in high school—through the 2026-2027 academic year. With approximately five hours per week, you’ll deliver consultative services, including 30-minute weekly sessions for each student, along with related paperwork.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid New York State Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certification (PK–12)
  • Demonstrated background working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) for effective communication
  • Experience utilizing and supporting hearing technology, such as FM/DM systems, AAC, or cochlear implants

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored instruction and consultation services as detailed in each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
  • Develop and closely monitor IEP goals to address each learner’s unique auditory and communication needs
  • Maintain essential documentation and communication with school team members and families
  • Support students’ access to curriculum and school participation through specialized strategies and use of technology
