Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing

  • Proficiency in sign language (ASL or other) preferred
  • Knowledge of educational accommodations, IEP development, and specialized instructional strategies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for connecting with students, families, and colleagues
  • Creative problem-solving approaches to addressing student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement specialized instruction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Assist with the development, review, and implementation of IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education educators, speech therapists, and support staff
  • Provide ongoing consultation and training on hearing loss and best practices for inclusive teaching
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
