A full-time opportunity awaits as an itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH), supporting students across multiple schools throughout the district. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid OSPI Certification with a DHH endorsement
- Proven experience working with students using cochlear implants, hearing aids, and both FM and ASL communication methods
- Strong knowledge of strategies to support students with varying levels of hearing loss
- Ability to travel between sites and adapt to changing classroom environments
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Previous experience in an itinerant teaching capacity preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to DHH students in varied educational settings
- Collaborate with general and special education teachers to ensure access to curriculum and facilitate accommodations
- Consult with school teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide training and resources to teachers and staff on DHH best practices and assistive technology
- Advocate for accessible learning environments and foster student independence
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and service delivery
