Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Weare, NH

Key Qualifications:

• Prior experience or certification in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Familiarity with the use of NHSEIS and a strong understanding of IEP and 504 plan processes
• Ability to implement evaluation findings in instructional planning
• Strong organizational skills for record keeping and progress monitoring
• Comfort with consultation and collaboration among families, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other providers
• Experience providing professional development or staff training is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to students who qualify for these services
• Use NHSEIS to contribute to IEP development
• Collaborate with school teams on creating, implementing, and monitoring IEPs and 504 plans
• Integrate evaluation and progress report data into your instructional approach and proposals for IEP goals
• Maintain accurate records and progress data
• Oversee and monitor classroom modifications as outlined in IEPs
• Provide ongoing consultation and guidance to staff and families regarding hearing loss and accommodations
• Manage and troubleshoot student amplification devices, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
• Support students in self-advocacy and management of their assistive technology
• Ensure compliance with all state special education procedural safeguards and district policies
• Participate in professional development and fulfill required building staff duties
