Make a real difference by delivering specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a vibrant school setting. This full-time contract opportunity offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00am to 3:30pm, with services provided onsite across multiple locations. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
You will work directly with a diverse caseload of 22 students—three of whom are completely deaf and require intensive, individualized services, while the others experience varying levels of hearing impairment and need a combination of direct instruction and consultation.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience with students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or hearing impaired in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of specialized instructional strategies, assistive technologies, and communication methods (such as ASL)
- Ability to travel between school sites to provide services as needed
- Skilled in collaborating with classroom teachers, staff, and families to support student success
- Excellent organizational, time management, and documentation abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services tailored to students’ needs, both individual and small groups
- Provide intensive support for students who are completely deaf
- Develop and implement instructional plans using a variety of communication strategies
- Consult and collaborate with general education staff to foster an inclusive environment
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to education teams and families
- Maintain thorough records in accordance with educational requirements
