Desired Qualifications:

• Valid state certification as Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
• Experience working with children or adolescents with hearing loss in educational settings preferred
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken language strategies
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative educational services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Assess students’ needs and develop tailored lesson plans to support both language and content learning
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers, interpreters, and families to ensure accessible instruction
• Support the use of amplification devices and classroom accommodations
• Participate in IEP meetings, data collection, and progress monitoring
• Advocate for students and provide training to staff on Deaf awareness and effective communication strategies
• Encourage student self-advocacy and independence
