Qualifications and Credentials:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
• Experience working with children or adolescents with hearing impairments
• In-depth understanding of audiology reports and assistive listening devices
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and monitoring
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and service providers
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency highly preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support for students with hearing loss, tailored to individual needs
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to facilitate accessible learning environments
• Advocate for student access by coordinating with classroom teachers and support staff
• Participate in IEP meetings, assess student progress, and contribute to progress reports
• Consult on assistive technology and classroom accommodations
• Engage with families and caregivers to ensure continuity of services and support
