Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working in educational settings with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong understanding of language acquisition, communication modalities, and assistive technologies
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to fostering accessibility and equity in education
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction tailored to the individual needs of deaf/hard of hearing students
- Develop and adapt lesson plans, objectives, and materials to align with student goals and IEPs
- Serve as a resource to general education teachers, offering strategies and support for full classroom inclusion
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions
- Advocate for students’ needs and foster self-advocacy skills
