Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state licensure or eligibility as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience working in educational settings with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students preferred
- Proficiency with sign language and alternative communication methods
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
- Creative, patient approach to individualized instruction and IEP implementation
- Commitment to supporting diverse student needs in an inclusive environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing loss, adapting content and teaching strategies to individual needs
- Collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, and families to implement IEPs and facilitate student success
- Conduct and interpret assessments to inform instructional planning for accessibility and progress
- Advocate for student inclusion and accessibility across the school community
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress and response to interventions
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary educational teams
- Offer consultation and training for fellow educators on accommodations and best practices
