DHH Teacher | Woodbridge, Virginia

As a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, you’ll work collaboratively with educational teams, families, and support professionals to provide tailored instruction and foster a positive, inclusive learning space for students.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
• Experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of auditory/oral, total communication, and ASL methodologies
• Ability to develop and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Commitment to encouraging student independence and self-advocacy
• Adaptability and problem-solving abilities

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative special education services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies and accommodations
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress
• Monitor student performance and adjust interventions as needed
• Conduct assessments to identify and address student learning needs
• Contribute to IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation
• Foster an inclusive environment that nurtures student confidence and participation
