Collaborate closely with school staff, families, and other specialists to foster a supportive and accessible learning environment tailored to each child’s needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid state certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience teaching or providing support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong ASL (American Sign Language) skills and/or familiarity with other communication modalities
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Effective communication with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Adaptability, compassion, and a student-centered mindset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instructional and support services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in various classroom or resource settings
  • Adapt and modify curriculum and materials for accessibility
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and school personnel to implement accommodations and strategies
  • Facilitate IEP meetings and contribute to evaluation and goal-setting for students
  • Serve as an advocate for accessible communication and inclusion throughout the school community
  • Provide consultative services and support for parents/guardians
