Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and adaptive technology
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff and families
• Ability to adapt curriculum and materials for accessibility

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students’ visual needs
• Work with general and special education staff to create inclusive learning environments
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to maximize outcomes
• Train and support classroom teachers in accessibility accommodations and modifications
• Guide students in the use of assistive technologies for learning, communication, and daily living skills
• Conduct assessments to determine students’ functional vision and needs
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on goals and strategies for success
