This full-time position, offering 37.5 hours per week, provides the opportunity to work with a small, manageable caseload of five middle and high school students, supporting their growth and academic success in an inclusive learning environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Experience supporting middle and/or high school students with visual impairments
  • Proficiency in Braille instruction, assistive technology, and accessible instructional materials
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and educational teams
  • Ability to tailor teaching strategies for individual learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Modify and adapt curriculum materials to meet accessibility needs
  • Teach Braille, orientation and mobility concepts, and use of specialized tools and devices
  • Serve as a resource to school staff regarding best practices for supporting visually impaired learners
  • Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents and educational staff
