This contract opportunity is designed for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year and offers a part-time schedule of two days per week, with the potential for slightly increased hours if needed. Your expertise will play a vital role in helping students with visual impairments access curriculum and develop crucial life skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working in school or educational settings preferred
  • Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instructional materials for students with visual impairments
  • Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility strategies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
  • Provide direct instruction and support tailored to each student’s unique needs, including Braille, assistive technology, and daily living skills
  • Consult with classroom teachers and staff to ensure accessibility and accommodations
  • Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with families and educational teams
  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and other collaborative processes
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the school and district policies
