Empower students and make a difference as a specialist supporting visually impaired learners in a vibrant educational community near Alpharetta, GA. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a close-knit caseload of 5 middle and high school students. You'll provide vital instruction, advocacy, and specialized support in a collaborative school environment, all while working 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience or strong interest in working with middle and high school students
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and Braille instruction
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and educational access tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to ensure accessibility and inclusion
  • Perform ongoing assessments, progress monitoring, and evaluation of student achievement
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to support students in classroom settings
  • Conduct education and provide guidance to school staff and families on best practices for accessibility
  • Maintain organized documentation, reports, and required compliance records
