Step into a meaningful role supporting students with visual impairments in an educational setting dedicated to making a difference. This contract opportunity, beginning September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027, involves working with a diverse caseload of 25-30 students—primarily those with visual disabilities, alongside students who may have secondary or tertiary needs. Assigned to 2-3 welcoming educational centers in the area, you’ll become a vital resource in helping students thrive, particularly within a setting supporting learners with significant behavioral and physical challenges.
In this engaging position, you’ll collaborate with a supportive team, travel between buildings, and have the opportunity to make a lasting impact in students’ daily lives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), or eligibility for certification
- Experience working with students who have visual, behavioral, and/or physical disabilities preferred
- Flexibility to work across multiple sites and adapt to different classroom environments
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and consultation for students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams, including therapists and support staff
- Support students as they navigate both academic and daily living skills
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring for caseload
- Offer training and support for staff and families as needed
You’ll work 37.5 hours per week, primarily during school hours, giving you a predictable schedule throughout the school year. Licenses should be attached for consideration.
