Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired on a contract basis. In this vital role, you’ll provide specialized instruction and resources to help students with visual impairments achieve their fullest academic and personal potential. This is a full-time position (35 hours per week), starting as soon as possible and continuing through late May 2027. On-site presence is required, and specifics regarding campus and caseload will be determined with successful candidates during the interview process.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid Educator Certification and National Certification required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain district-specific background clearance
  • Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments strongly preferred
  • Commitment to individualized instruction and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Adaptability to meet the unique needs of each student across a range of ages
  • Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative instructional services for students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to implement IEP goals
  • Assess student needs and develop appropriate accommodations and modifications
  • Provide training in specialized Braille, orientation, and mobility skills as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute insights to IEP and eligibility meetings
  • Support students' academic, social, and emotional development
