This contract opportunity spans the 2026–2027 academic year and involves working closely across elementary, middle, and high school settings as part of an itinerant support team. Here, you’ll empower K–8 learners across two school clusters, enabling access to education and shaping inclusive learning experiences.
Your days will include collaborating with a small caseload (approximately 12 students) across both elementary and middle school levels. The number of schools on your route will typically be two per day, rarely three, ensuring you can devote quality time to each student’s needs. The full-time schedule offers 35 hours per week in vital, on-site roles, providing both routine and the variety that comes from working across age groups and campuses.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Educator Certification with Vision endorsement required
- Proven experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or in a comparable role
- Skilled in supporting K–8 students across diverse educational settings
- Ability to develop and adapt materials for visually impaired learners
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with classroom teachers and support staff
- Commitment to timely district credentialing, including background check and fingerprinting
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and consultative services for students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families to implement IEP goals
- Develop accessible curriculum materials and modifications
- Travel between school sites within assigned clusters
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to student progress
