Key Qualifications:
- Active Professional Florida TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) License
- Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) Certification
- Background in testing and screening students for visual impairments
- Experience in school-based settings preferred, though not mandatory
- Comfortable traveling between multiple campuses (up to 13 schools, approximately 15-20 students, K-12)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver both direct and consultative services to visually impaired students, adapting instruction to individual needs
- Screen students and assess for visual impairments, maintaining up-to-date records and reports
- Collaborate with faculty, families, and related service providers to create accessible learning environments
- Develop flexible weekly plans in coordination with district leadership to optimize travel and daily scheduling
- Utilize district’s main office as a home base, with the majority of work performed across assigned schools and some services provided virtually
- Support IEP development and help ensure compliance with educational goals
Additional Details:
- Full-time, 35 hours per week (8:00am–3:30pm, with 30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Hybrid model allows a balance between onsite and virtual service delivery
